Lenten Worship Series "The Way"
The Camino de Santiago (the Way of St. James) is a network of ancient pilgrim routes stretching across Europe and coming together at the tomb of St. James (Santiago in Spanish) in Santiago de Compostela in north-west Spain. People have been making this pilgrimage since the Middle Ages.
The Way, a movie by Emilio Estevez and costarring Martin Sheen, is a movie of one man’s journey on the Camino, and is serving as the anchor image for our Lent series. We are using scenes and images from the movie, along with other journeys on the Camino, as reference points for our own journey on The Way. The earliest Christians described themselves as “people of the Way.” Today, in places where it is dangerous to convert to Christianity, some people still describe themselves as this.
Our journey from Ash Wednesday to Easter is a pilgrimage, a chance to know ourselves and to deepen our faith, to make sure that our feet are safely and faithfully on The Way.
Proposed Pavilion Project Feedback
Not only Sunday mornings, but also throughout the week Grace is a busy place. One way to expand our space at Grace and for groups to be able to enjoy God's creation is to build a pavilion. Prior to proceeding with this project we want to hear from you regarding the project. Are you for it? How do you see it being used? Do you have questions or hesitations? Either way, your voice is important so that the church will be able to make a well informed decision. There will be members of the committee available for questions and comments following the services on February 17, 24, and March 4. Please check out the pavilion page for more information and to submit feedback.
We have a variety of gifts, talents, and interests here at Grace. We encourage everyone to fill out this brief fellowship survey to allow others to know about your interests. This will help out the fellowship team by allowing us to plan events that match the interests of Grace. It will also allow Grace members to connect with each other through their interests. Spring 2019 Grace Family First Nights
Please join us this spring on the first Sunday nights of the month for Grace Family First. Everyone is asked to bring some food to share. Following dinner there will be a planned activity.
April 7 - You are asked to bring a soup or salad and no dessert. Being in the season of lent, we will eat simply and do a service project following dinner.
May 5 - You won't want to miss the Children's program. In addition to a dish to share, now is the time to bring your best dessert.

The church is transitioning over to a new database system. It will allow for an easier way of communication. A secure online directory is now available as well as an app. If you have already been invited to Realm, then go ahead and check it out. If you haven't yet been invited and want to check it out, then send Peggy or Rhett an e-mail.
