In this session, you will discover resources and approaches to help you discover more about your family history. Learn how to establish objectives for your search and the basics for organized information gathering and presentation of results. You will learn how to set up a successful search using on-line resources such as Ancestry.com and FamilyHistory.org (Mormon/LDS site) as well as independent sources of discovery and DNA testing.
Several examples of exciting personal finds will be shared. This workshop will be based on what Chuck has learned - both successes and pitfalls during his own 30+ year journey of searching his family's genealogy.
About the Instructor:
Genealogy has grown into a serious hobby for Chuck. He started his family search with 12 names and dates written on the back of an envelope his mother and grandmother had provided over 30 years ago. This has grown into his family's genealogy with over 3,000 names recorded spanning 28 generations! It has been exciting for Chuck to learn the story of his family's history and he is excited to share his experience and knowledge learned during his journey with you.
