Room in the inn
The church showers are almost finished. The bedding has been donated. The weather is starting to turn cooler. It is time to begin thinking about how to help our neighbors, who are experiencing homelessness.
Room In The Inn, sponsored by Charlotte’s Urban Ministry Center, facilitates providing shelter and food during the winter months. Each site offers a warm, safe place to sleep, serves three meals, and then returns the guests to uptown Charlotte.
The program runs from December to March. Grace can sign up for any number of days, any day(s) of the week, and any number of guests.
It is easy to get involved, but it takes some effort to keep a site going. This is where you come in! We need the Grace Community’s support to open our inn.
First, review the 8 roles (images to right) needed for opening our inn.
Second, talk with your friends and family about the best days to provide support.
Third, by October 31, tell firstname.lastname@example.org what you can help with and the best days.
It is that easy for now. We will gather the volunteer information and determine how best to proceed with Room In The Inn.
