Grace Trip to Give Kids the World

Who Can Attend

Helpful Links

This is open to members and friends of Grace.

When

This trip will take place September 16-22.  You may choose to volunteer any day that week. You may also choose to stay longer or shorter if you wish. We will be working a shift together on Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon, as well as have at least two meals and devotions together.

Purpose

GKTW provides families of children who have been diagnosed with a life threatening disease to come to the Orlando area to enjoy week together.  Many families have been busy with doctor’s appointments and many other things that take away the opportunity for them to spend quality time together.  This is their week to be a “normal family” and experience many things that we take for granted.  We will be there to help help provide a wonderful experience for these families.

Cost

There is no cost to volunteer at GKTW.  We do ask that you purchase a Grace GKTW t-shirt that we will all wear when we volunteer.  You are responsible for your transportation and meals.  If you choose to stay at the Villas on Seven Dwarfs Lane, the prices vary depending on the unit size and length of say.

Lodging

You have two options for lodging: stay at the Villas on Seven Dwarfs Lane, or you can find your own housing.  The villas are two-story townhomes with a master bedroom and bath on the main floor.  There is also a washer/dryer, full kitchen, living room and dining area.  Upstairs are the additional bedrooms and bathrooms.  In the three bedroom units one of the bedrooms has an attached bathroom, while the other is in the hallway.  Other amenities on site include pool, hot tub, playground, tennis court, basketball court, beach volleyball court, grills, and fishing pond.  There are obviously a limited number of units available.  Families may share a villa.  There is a 8 person limit to the 4 bedroom units and 6 person limit to the 3 bedroom units.  It is located in Kissimmee, just a short drive to GKTW as well as many of the area attractions.

Schedule

You will set your own schedule for the most part.  We will work a shift on Monday morning together as well as Wednesday evening. Do you want to go to Universal or Disney?  Enjoy!  Want to head to Cocoa Beach for a day? Wear your sunscreen.  Simply sign up for how many shifts your family wants each day and whether you want morning or evening/night.  Most activities at GKTW occur in the evening since most families head to amusement parks during the day.

Give Kids the World

Volunteers must be at least 12 years old.  Those 12-17 will need to submit a parent waiver.  In volunteering at GKTW, we help at the village where they stay, typically in the areas of food services or entertainment.
